The Internet and Mobile Marketing Association of the Philippines (IMMAP) is holding their 6th annual summit with the theme of “Hit the Heart of Digital” this coming August 23-24, 2012. To drum up more hype for the summit they recently launched the event website which features the speaker line-up and the program. The roster of speakers is definitely impressive since you have a mix of local and international digital industry shakers and movers. On a personal note let me just say that I feel very fortunate and humbled to be part of the line-up!
The Keynote Speakers
For Day 1, the keynote speaker is CNN Digital’s Senior Editor, Tyson Wheatley. Tyson has contributed a lot to CNN Digital’s award winning efforts, including the iReport, CNN’s citizen journalism platform. Drawing from his years of experience in digital news publishing, Tyson will be talking about “Digital Consumers”. The topic title is a bit vague but I’m hoping he’ll be able to share a lot of “never-before” seen data together with a lot of insights.
Manny V. Pangilinan, chairman of PLDT and SMART, will be the keynote speaker for Day 2. There’s no topic listed yet but I’m definitely interested in hearing what he has to say especially what his views are on the immediate future when it comes to infrastructure. As the boss of the biggest telco in the country, his vision has a major impact on the digital industry since the telco infrastructure is the backbone of the Internet and mobile communications.
Other featured speakers include DOT Ass. Secretary Enerio III, Matt Sutton, Senior Director of Komli SEA, Jeff Lippold, Lead for Digital Strategy of Euro RSCG Tokyo, and Leigh Reyes, President and COO of Lowe Philippines.
Two Tracks… pick your poison!
Just like last year, the summit is divided into two tracks. Initially there will be a plenary session wherein all the attendees can listen to the featured and keynote speakers. After that it branches into two simultaneous tracks and you have to pick who you want to listen to throughout the two days of the Summit.
TNM is a Media Partner of the IMMAP Summit
Lastly I’m very happy to announce that The New Media (www.thenewmedia.com) is a media partner for the IMMAP Summit! We’re excited to promote this event since we firmly believe that those two days will shape and influence a lot of digital campaigns that we’ll see for the next year. Expect to see more write-ups and articles about the event in the coming weeks.
